DKK Researcher Receives 2025 JFCA Award for Technology Innovation in Industrial Fine Ceramics

The Japan Fine Ceramics Association (“JFCA”) Award recognizes outstanding achievements in the development of innovative new products, novel technologies, and new applications that contribute to the growth of the fine ceramics industry and the creation of new markets.
Mr. Masayuki TAKAI of DKK was honored with this prestigious award for the company’s rare earth-free stabilized zirconia material.
This year, as in 2023, the award recognized the same zirconia material developed by DKK.
In the previous award, the material attracted significant attention for its unique properties, including approximately three times higher fracture toughness while maintaining strength comparable to conventional products, as well as excellent hydrothermal degradation resistance even under hot water environments.
This year, the material was further recognized for achieving the excellent properties of zirconia ceramics while replacing rare earth stabilizers with calcia (calcium oxide), a more readily available material with improved supply stability.
By leveraging our proprietary technologies to unlock the superior properties of advanced materials, DKK continues to deliver innovative, high-value-added products that contribute to solving social challenges.
