DKK Colleague Wins the CMAJ “Technology Award”
Our “Development of High Heat-Resistant Zirconia Porous Material for Automotive Exhaust Catalysts” has received the “Technology Award” sponsored by the Catalyst Manufacturers Association Japan (“CMAJ”). Mr. Hiroshi KODAMA of DKK was recognized by this prestigious organization. The award ceremony will be held on June 5 where he will also give a presentation.
CMAJ was founded in 1965 to promote the sound development of Japan’s catalyst industry. The membership of the Association comprises catalyst manufacturers, and catalyst-related companies including raw material suppliers, and trading companies. CMAJ as an organization represents Japan’s catalyst industry.
The award-winning patented technology is to provide a zirconia-based porous body having a pore diameter suitable for supporting catalytic active species, such as precious metals, and having small variability in the pore diameter, as well as a sufficient specific surface area even after heat treatment. The material improves the purification efficiency of automotive exhaust catalysts, thereby contributing to the control of air pollution, global environmental conservation, and avoidance of depletion of precious metal resources used as catalysts.
